I had the chance to see an old friend in Boston recently and photograph her beautiful twins. Suzie and Mike welcomed me into their home during a very hectic time, when the twins were just 10 days old. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to take these photos of their beautiful babies, JJ & Olivia. I absolutely love the bond between twins, especially at this newborn stage. All curled up, legs entangled, hearts beating in unison as they cuddle. It’s just amazing to witness.
Suzie was open to the idea of setting up shop outside for the shoot, since they have a gorgeous courtyard area behind their brownstone apartment. I was thrilled! I had brought some baskets with me for propping the babies, but when I saw this picnic basket sitting on top of their kitchen cabinet, I asked if we could put the babies in there. Years down the road, they’ll be taking their little ones on picnics with the very same basket, telling them, “you two used to fit in here together!”. Take a look at some of my early favorites below. We even got some photos with JJ and Olivia’s big brother, their puppy, Leo!
