I am blessed to have some really amazing girlfriends. Kari is one of those girlfriends. We met at UConn, MANY moons ago, and I was blessed to have her as my “big sister” in our sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma (ok, we called it “mom/daughter”, not “big sister/little sister”, but that just sounds weird to the non-Greeks out there!). Over the last 12 years of our friendship (eeek, we’re getting old!), we have seen each other through the best and worst of times. We were bridesmaids in each other’s weddings. We have supported each other through the ups and downs that our 20s (and eeek, early 30s) have brought us.
I am so incredibly happy for Kari and her husband, Mark. They are expecting their first child, a baby girl, literally any day now. With her due date just a week and a half away, we squeezed in a quick photo session to capture that beautiful growing baby bump.
Kar, I’ve never seen you more beautiful. I am thrilled for you guys, and can’t wait to meet your daughter. Remember the pact we made — when you’re having a rough day, I’ll be happy to take your newborn, and you can have my toddler and 3 year old. Seems like a fair trade! Ha. Love you so much. Congratulations to you both! You will be amazing parents, I have no doubt.
